Ami Spangler is a life-long apprentice to beauty and art. The large acrylic-on-canvas paintings in this collection were inspirited by the microcosm, the macrocosm, cosmic rhythms, constellations, crystals and dancers. Spangler’s art investigates the unseen worlds of generative forces, formative forces, and the crystal lattices underlying the energy grids that condense into form – including the human form and expression. The artist’s ‘heroes’ who were significant and grounding include Chagall, Judy Chicago, Matisse, Monet, Georgia O’Keefe, and Rothko.
